Right now therere is now way I‘m selling my schoeps or neumann km 84. On room mics like OH I mostly prefer cmc 64 without vms. Occasionaly its better - mostly on close miked sources like vocals - love the mk 1 47 model for this. German engineering at its finest.īTW I‘m using my 8 CMC 6 with slate vms on top. Modelling can‘t mimic this - itˋs complex physical capsule behaviour and one one the many reasons why schoeps cost what they cost. The farer you get from the source the more important this gets. The ML-1 already replaced my Neumann U87.The point about highend ldc microphones like schoeps is their OFF AXIS sound. Schoeps are my go to right now, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to replace those in the near future. Fantastic news! Is it just me, or don't you guys think it would be nice with KM84/CMC6 or similar overhead mic models? I mostly record smaller acoustic ensembles, where great overhead mics are essential.
